With the release of firmware version 1.3.0, PMX Systems introduces significant enhancements to the PMX TCR. Two new functions - the Totalizer mode and the Rollover option - open up completely new application possibilities, especially for long-term counting or projects that require cumulative values.
At the same time, the classic interval mode is retained so that users can flexibly choose between different counting modes depending on the application. As usual, all settings can be made easily using the PMX Setup Tool for Windows, macOS or Linux.
New functions at a glance
Totaliser Mode - cumulative counter values at a glance
With the new Totalizer Mode, the PMX TCR continues to count continuously - the detected objects are no longer reset after each data transmission, but add up over longer periods of time. This makes this mode ideal for analyses where the total number of people, vehicles or bicycles counted is important. The maximum count per category is 65,535.
Rollover Function - seamless data acquisition without interruption
If the maximum value is reached in Totalizer Mode, the rollover function can be activated as an option. In this case, the count automatically starts again at zero without the need for a manual reset. This is particularly useful for long-term projects or continuous counting in the field. If the option is deactivated, the counter stops at the maximum value - ideal for data backup at precisely defined intervals.
Interval Mode – Proven and still available
Of course, the Interval Mode is also retained. This is preset and works as before: the counter is reset after each transmission cycle (e.g. every 10 minutes). This method is particularly suitable for time-based evaluations where changes over the course of the day or at short intervals are to be analysed.
Further new features in Update V1.3.0
- New LoRaWAN selection: Users can now choose between LoRaWAN® 1.1 (default) and LoRaWAN® 1.0.4 (L2) - depending on the requirements of the network server used.
- New downlink & CLI commands: New commands support totaliser and rollover functions - both via the Setup Tool and the command line.
- Faster join procedure: The standard join timeout has been reduced to 3 minutes (previously 10 minutes). In addition, the memory is automatically cleared in the event of a timeout, which reduces connection problems.
Important: What to note during installation: The Update to version 1.3.0 resets all device settings to factory settings - including the LoRa keys. Please back up or reconfigure in advance. The PMX Setup Tool version 1.8.0 or higher is required to configure the new functions (available for Windows, macOS, Linux).
Update now and get more out of the PMX TCR
Firmware version 1.3.0 is now available for download. With the new setup tool, all functions can be configured intuitively - without the need to replace any hardware.
