How accurately does the PMX TCR object counter detect people on cross-country ski trails? To find out, we tested our device under real conditions at the Dario Cologna Cross-Country Ski Centre in Davos - with impressive results.
Practical test under real conditions
We spent half a day testing our PMX TCR object counter on a trail less than 10 metres wide. The focus was on setup and configuration with the PMX setup tool, filter teaching for precise object recognition and live monitoring of the counter. We also wanted to test the accuracy of the counts - does the TCR detect all cross-country skiers or are there limitations? The test showed that 99 % were reliably detected.
In most cases, the PMX TCR accurately recorded all cross-country skiers. There were a few exceptions, such as people running very close together, synchronised movements or short stops in front of the counter. Extremely slow movements can also be excluded depending on the filter setting - however, these can be customised.

Ideal for counting in winter sports
The test confirms the suitability of the PMX TCR object counter for winter sports. With high detection accuracy, real-time data transmission and simple set-up without any prior technical knowledge, it enables precise movement analyses. Its privacy-friendly and versatile application and solar-powered operation make it a reliable and energy-efficient solution for outdoor use.
